"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." -- Galatians 6:10
InterVarsity values service to others, as a way of following in Jesus' footsteps, loving others with our actions as well as our words, and doing our own small part to help change a world full of social, economic, and racial injustice.
Any time we know of a service opportunity that we feel is important to get the word out about, we will update this blog to get the word to you. This should enable us to better act as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ on campus and in Evansville.
If you know of such an opportunity that you want to be listed here, feel free to contact Peter Nikolai (pn17@evansville.edu).

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
- Patchwork Central is in need of tutors for their after school program, M-Th, with shifts from 3:15-4 and 4-4:45. Please contact Peter Nikolai (pn17@evansville.edu) ASAP if you are able to help these kids with their homework even one day of the week for even one shift, and especially if you can drive. We now have a driver Mondays for the 3:15-4 shift (Sara Graham, sg154) and one for the 4-4:45 shift (Jacque Ballard, jb559). We also have drivers who will be going for double shifts on Tuesday (Allison Throm, at101) and Wednesday (Brianna Gaddis, bg111). But that does not mean that nobody else can go along with them or drive at another time! Drivers will meet at the fountain in Ridgway before moving on to their cars to drive over to Patchwork.
- Anyone interested in leading up our effort to contribute to the ministry of United Caring Shelter and/or Evansville Christian Life Center, contact Peter Nikolai (pn17@evansville.edu) for more details. This is on hold for the moment, but we are working on getting an okay for it.
- If you love hanging out with kids and watching movies, get in touch with Kim Larson (kl138@evansville.edu), who does both of those things on Friday afternoons after classes.
- Anyone interested in serving through Impact Ministries by hanging out with "at-risk" children in Evansville? Many people in InterVarsity and Student Christian Fellowship have faithfully served at Impact over the years and have had fun, meaningful experiences making a difference in youngsters' lives. Contact Jenna Clark (jc375@evansville.edu) for more information.
- Habitat for Humanity is serving people in Jacobsville! The first service day is Saturday, October 29th, with shifts from 10-12:30, 1-3:30, and 3:30-6.
