Fellowship

Hi folks, reminders about fellowship opportunities this weekend:

- Friday night--Halloween party at Erica and Kelsey's house from 8 until 11 or 12.
- Saturday--meet in Ridgway at 3:15 to go to UE's first exhibition basketball game in the new Ford Center!  This is a great way to invite non-Christian friends into community with you and other Christians.  A really easy invite.
- Saturday night--meet in the Hale game room to watch and discuss the movie To Save a Life.
- Sunday night--Fresh Roots!  There's a detailed post about it below, for freshmen.

Have a blessed weekend, and remember how much God wants a relationship (which goes two ways) with you!

Fresh Roots!

Attention freshmen!  Fresh Roots is starting this Sunday at 7 p.m. in Erica and Kelsey's Weinbach house.  This is a chance for you as freshmen to grow closer to each other--the people you will be seeing so much of over the next four years.  You'll go to InterVarsity together; you'll pray together; you'll snap at each other; you'll annoy the heck out of each other; you'll learn from each other, go on mission trips with each other, and be transformed together.  Fresh Roots will deepen all these experiences.

I highly encourage all freshmen to go not as one option out of many but as a priority.  Think of it as an investment whose first returns will be seen in your next 3 and a half years at UE, but the impact of which will last a lifetime.  Plus it will be a blast, there will be free food, and you'll get a chance to make some decisions for InterVarsity, so I (Peter) will see you Sunday!

Please don't think of this as a leader trying to manipulate you into doing stuff.  Instead, think of it as someone who has been (generally) in your shoes, and is very thankful (generally) he made the choices he made, like going to Fresh Roots freshman year.
